Muscle Building Foods To Perfect Your Body Composition
Do you want to get a body like that guy or gal in the movies? Guess what they’re eating? Muscle building foods! They already know that working out isn’t enough – you need to eat right to get the lean muscle you’ve been eyeing for years.
Believe it or not, but carbs play a vital role when building muscle. Carbohydrates prevent your body from breaking down the protein you’ve ingested for energy – you want all of that protein reserved for muscle! Carb-loading also gives you consistent energy, if you eat the right type at the right time, so you can stay pressing longer and more intensely.
On everyone’s list of classic muscle building foods is protein – and the most convenient way to get protein is in a shake. There are tons of varieties on the market, just find one you can stomach. Whey protein works fantastic. For a great evening protein shake, try a casein shake – they take longer to absorb, which will keep you fed until morning.
Don’t stop at the protein shakes, however – you still want to ingest plenty of natural protein sources in your diet. Some great sources are lean beef, chicken and turkey, fish and even eggs. Get some of these into each meal.
Finally, you need plenty of water. Think of yourself as a fish that’s got legs. Drink up! At least 6-8 glasses – which really is a bit low for an athlete in training – will go a long way. You may even get your water from an electrolyte-rich sports drink for after training, but don’t forget you will also need your protein.
