Dieting? HCG Supplement May Be What You Need
The problem with most dieters is controlling their food intakes, but for some it isn’t eating too much but eating too little. Some people starve themselves in order to cut calories quickly, if you’re one of these people, HCG supplement may be what you’re looking for to help you shed that extra pound or two.
During pregnancy, the developing embryo after conception and later by the placenta produces a hormone called HCG, or human chorionic gonadotropin. Doctors discovered the purpose of HCG for weight loss when they noticed that pregnant women on a very low calorie diet lost body fat because their bodies were adapting to protect the fetus. Further research shows that while HCG can help in removing mobile fat from the stomach, upper arms and thighs, it also maintains the structural fat in the muscles and organs. Some studies also found more supple skin and improved health in other areas.
There are two forms of HCG currently available as a weight loss aid. For people who are able to afford it and need to lose a lot of weight, doctors will give the HCG in injection form. Available on-line are HCG injections although one can never be too sure of their safety and most people aren’t comfortable with the idea that they have to give themselves daily shots.
If you do not qualify for the HCG injections, either because you cannot afford them or because your weight loss needs are not as severe, you can still purchase HCG homeopathic supplements. These are in a liquid form and are self-administered sublingually – that is beneath your tongue. Different formulas have different recommendations for dosage, but they are typically 6-10 drops, three to eight times daily.
Weight loss is not caused by the HCG supplement. Sometimes very low calorie diet, as low as 500 calories a day, and a couple of supplements such as calcium, enzymes, vinegar, l-carnitine, coconut oil and a colon cleansing tea or tablet are recommended in the program. As a preparation for the diet program, you start with a high calorie and fat diet along with the drops. Accordingly, a restriction of calories and a recommendation of cutting down or eliminating sugar and starch and drinking at least to quarts of water a day. Doing no more than 30 minutes of walking a day as an exercise is recommended.
For dieters who have no problems with calorie limitations, HCG can make a huge difference by maintaining a high metabolic rate instead of starving oneself and making the best use of each calorie. Initial weight loss can be two pounds per day, although the long term average is closer to one pound daily.
Once in a while you may even cheat while continuing to lose a reasonable amount of weight. A number of dedicated websites are providing supplements while also providing diet guidelines, recipes and recommendations in order for you to maintain your weight even after the diet.
